Responsibilities
- Site Supervisor: Leads safety, conducts inspections, and stops unsafe work.
- Competent Person: Inspects high-hazard work (excavations, scaffolds, fall protection).
- All Workers: Follow safe work practices, wear PPE, and report hazards and incidents.
Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Daily site inspection
- Walk the site to identify hazards (openings, energized systems, housekeeping).
- Verify barricades, signage, and access/egress are in place.
- Confirm equipment and tools are inspected and in safe condition.

2. PPE & controls
- Confirm workers have and wear required PPE (hard hat, eye protection, hi-vis, boots).
- Establish controls for the day's tasks (fall protection, LOTO, trench protection).
- Verify a competent person has inspected high-hazard work areas.

3. Toolbox talk & work
- Hold a daily safety huddle/toolbox talk covering the day's hazards.
- Ensure permits (hot work, confined space) are in place where required.
- Monitor conditions and stop work if hazards change or arise.

4. Incident response & reporting
- Render first aid and secure the area after any incident.
- Report all injuries and near-misses to the supervisor immediately.
- Investigate root cause and implement corrective actions.
