Step-by-Step Procedure

  1. 1. Prepare & isolate energy

    • Review the machine's PM checklist and manufacturer instructions.
    • Notify production and apply lockout/tagout to isolate all energy sources.
    • Verify zero energy state before servicing.
  2. 2. Inspect & service

    • Inspect for wear, leaks, damage, and loose fasteners.
    • Lubricate points per the schedule using the specified lubricant.
    • Replace filters, belts, and wear parts as due; clean the machine.
  3. 3. Test & release

    • Remove lockout/tagout following the correct release sequence.
    • Perform a functional/safety check and confirm guards are in place.
    • Return the machine to production and confirm normal operation.
  4. 4. Records

    • Record tasks completed, parts used, and any findings.
    • Raise a work order for any repairs beyond the PM scope.
    • Update the maintenance history and next-due date.
