Step-by-Step Procedure

  1. 1. Between-client turnover

    • Discard single-use items and remove used linens.
    • Clean then disinfect the chair, station surfaces, and tools with an EPA-registered disinfectant.
    • Observe the product's full contact/dwell time before reuse.
  2. 2. Daily cleaning

    • Disinfect all workstations, shampoo bowls, and shared equipment.
    • Sweep and mop floors; empty and sanitize trash bins.
    • Launder or dispose of towels and capes; restock clean linens.
    • Clean restrooms and reception surfaces.
  3. 3. Weekly tasks

    • Deep-clean shampoo bowls, drains, and foot spas per manufacturer instructions.
    • Wipe down retail shelves, mirrors, and baseboards.
    • Inspect and clean HVAC vents and appliance filters.
  4. 4. Chemical safety & records

    • Store chemicals per SDS; keep labels legible and containers closed.
    • Mix disinfectants to the correct concentration; never combine incompatible chemicals.
    • Complete the cleaning log with initials and time for each task.
