Responsibilities
- Packer: Verifies picks, packs orders, and applies shipping labels.
- Shipping Associate: Builds loads, manifests shipments, and confirms in the system.
- Warehouse Supervisor: Owns this SOP and monitors accuracy and on-time metrics.
Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Verify the pick
- Scan and verify picked items against the order (SKU and quantity).
- Check product condition and expiration/lot where applicable.
- Resolve any shortages or mispicks before packing.

2. Pack & label
- Select appropriate carton/packaging and dunnage.
- Pack securely, include required paperwork, and seal.
- Apply the correct shipping label and verify the address/service level.

3. Stage & load
- Stage completed orders in the correct outbound lane by carrier/route.
- Build loads safely, distributing weight and securing freight.
- Chock the trailer and engage the dock lock before loading.

4. Manifest & confirm
- Manifest the shipment with the carrier and generate documents (BOL).
- Confirm the shipment in the WMS/OMS to update order status.
- File shipping documents and record any exceptions.
